New course for long-term unemployed people

The Blenheim Project and the Octavia Foundation are running a new course, Learn2Earn, designed to help long-term unemployed people get back into work. The 12-week course is being run at the Blenheim Project’s KC North Hub at 1, East Row.

The programme aims to improve confidence and self-esteem by helping participants to take volunteering opportunities to improve their employability. The course is open to people at all levels and helps to build on existing skills, to reinforce them and to develop new ones.

Wendy, O’Neill, Volunteer Programme Manager, said, “Learn2Earn supports and encourages people who do not feel ready to work or have been long-term unemployed to get voluntary positions. Volunteering offers an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, expand and develop current skills, improve confidence and self-esteem while giving something back to the community. Volunteering also enables an individual to try out different roles and to introduce them into a work place environment at their own pace.”

The course runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm at The KC North Hub at 1, East Row, W10 5AR

If you or someone you know could benefit from this course, please call Anna or Wendy on 020 8960 5599 or email learn2earn@blenheimcdp.org.uk.
