Westway Arts Network – free event
The Westway Arts Network, a new forum for local artists and arts and cultural organisations, is holding its first gathering. Come along to the KPH pub on Ladbroke Grove on Thursday, 30th March, 6 to 8pm.
The Westway Trust has set up the Arts Network so that local people can be at the heart of decision making about how the Trust supports arts and culture in the area. It’s an open network for anyone with an interest in arts and culture and who is over 16 and lives, works or studies locally.
The Arts Network will be taking a keen interest in topics like the proposed Portobello Arts Space
on Acklam Road, the new youth-led Portobello Summer Festival
and the Festivals Fund
. The Festivals Fund will be awarding grants of up to £5,000 to support arts and cultural festivals.
The KPH event will include contributions from Christian Tilleray of the Westway Trust about the development of the Portobello Arts Space and from Selina Papa of the Heritage Lottery about how to get funding for local cultural heritage projects. There will also be live music in the pub, and you’re invited to make a night of it.
