Golborne: New homes consultation

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has announced a plan to build 600 new homes, including a minimum of 300 Council homes for rent. Two potential sites for building are located in Golborne Ward. The Council is now consulting on the proposals.

One of the sites (pictured above) that has been identified with potential to build new homes and other facilities is at 175-177 Kensal Road. Consultation sessions about this project are coming up:

Kensal Road consultation:
Church Hall of Our Lady of the Holy Souls, Bosworth Road, W10 5DJ
Wednesday 3 April, 4pm to 8pm (discussion session 6:30pm)
Saturday 6 April, 10:30am to 1:30pm (discussion session 12 noon)

A second site (pictured above) in Golborne is on Acklam Road, next to the Swinbrook Estate, and opposite the Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre. On the Acklam Road site the aim is to deliver as many council homes to rent as possible to meet the pressing need for genuinely affordable housing. Consultation venue and dates are:

Acklam Road consultation:
Bevington Primary School, Bevington Road, W10 5TW
Thursday 25 April, 4pm to 8pm (discussion session 6.30pm)
Saturday 27 April, 10.30am to 1pm (discussion session 12 noon)

The proposed time-scale for both these developments is that construction would start in mid-2020 with completion by the end of 2021. These dates are provisional.
