Consultation on Athlone Gardens
During the redevelopment of Wornington Green Estate, Athlone Gardens will be partially built on. This means that, from October 2010, the park will be around half its current size for several years.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, which owns Athlone Gardens, is holding two drop-in consultation sessions at the park. Members of the parks team will be there to answer your questions and listen to your ideas for the temporary park on Thursday 22nd July between 2 and 6pm and Saturday 24th July between 12 noon and 3pm.
Golborne Forum Chair Susie Parsons said, "Athlone Gardens is a really important green space in Golborne and no-one wants to lose half of it, but let’s all work together to make the temporary park as good as it can be."
When the redevelopment is finished, the Council has insisted there will be a new park which is the same size as the existing Athlone Gardens, which will have new and better facilities.
Athlone Gardens consultation:
Thursday 22nd July, 2 to 6pm
Saturday 24th July, 12 noon to 3pm
Both sessions are at the park.
