Tile workshops

New public art in Golborne

Last year, Golborne Railway Bridge was renovated and now local people are invited to a series of free workshops to create ceramic tiles to decorate the corner at the Trellick end of the bridge, by the junction with Elkstone Road. A new set of steps with tiles made by Kensington & Chelsea College design students is already in place and the new tiles will form a backdrop to the steps.

Local arts group Brown Baby is leading the creation of this public art installation. Toby Laurent Benson of Brown Baby is going to run the free workshops for local people at the Goldfinger Factory to create the tiles that will complete the installation.

You can view the college students' excellent work in the newly laid steps, and replica tiles and designs will be on display at the Goldfinger Factory from Wednesday June 4th.

The free workshops are open to anyone who would like to create a tile for the public art space.
