Golborne born and bred, Reg Thackeray has been running Clarke for more than four decades. His stock is an extraordinary collection of novelty goods, toys and memorabilia that he has collected over the last 40 years from car boot sales, auctions and second-hand shops. Novelty goods, vintage toys, memorabilia and artworks cover every surface in the shop and spill out into the street.

La Plaza

If there's a foodie in your life that needs a present, make your way to La Plaza. They stock all things Spanish including jamon serrano, chorizo and cheeses plus a great selection of sweets and cookies and a range of wines. Also a great place to stop for a coffee and freshly made sandwich when you're on the Christmas shopping trail.

Phil Bickley has been running Tonic on Portobello Road since 2000 and he's consistently sold some of the most stylish menswear youll find anywhere. Les Couilles du Chien

A fixture on Golborne Road for the last 30 years or so, Les Couilles du Chien combines a rather rude name with an eye for the unusual and even the astonishing. Owner Jerome Dodd finds extraordinary pieces for people who want to fill their homes with objects and furniture that are unique and quirky.

Portobello Art & Stationers

Portobello Art & Stationers has a huge and comprehensive stock of every art material imaginable. In fact they have so much choice that the shop spills out on to Portobello Road. Pencils, brushes, canvases, oil paints pastels, they're all there, just waiting to be turned into beautiful art.

The Cloth Shop

The Cloth Shop is a Portobello veteran run by Sam Harley, a man who knows his cloth inside out. The shop has a unique collection of contemporary and vintage fabrics and can recommend curtain makers, upholsters and dressmakers. The Cloth Shop also stocks an ever-changing collection of homewares.
