Ladbroke Grove Farmers’ Market now open in Golborne

Golborne now has its very own Farmers’ Market. It’s every Saturday from 9am to 2pm at the Spanish School on Portobello Road. The Market offers a fantastic selection of veg, fruit, meat, fish and baked goods, all fresh from the countryside or made traditionally in London.

Not all stalls are at the market every week, but here’s a small selection of what you’re likely to find on a Saturday.

Westmoor Farm

This 12-acre farm on the borders of Oxfordshire and Wiltshire specialises in delicious free range chickens – nothing like the supermarket variety. And the stall also offer an excellent selection of seasonally available game including pheasant, partridge and wild mallard duck.

Ted’s Veg

Ted Dawson’s farm is in south Lincolnshire and he uses traditional methods to grow a full range of seasonal vegetables. In winter you’ll find things like Jerusalem artichokes and spring brings asparagus, white sprouting broccoli and broad beans. In summertime there’s new potatoes, artichokes and radishes while in autumn sweetcorn and winter squash are on offer.

Whitelake Cheese

Whitelake Cheese’s artisan cheesemakers are based in Somerset, not far from the Glastonbury Festival site. Their speciality is a range of goats' milk soft cheeses but they also produce cheeses from cows' and sheep's milk. Look out for their Bagborough Brie, Little Wallop and White Nancy.
