Focus on business: Hutch

Georgia Hendey has recently opened Hutch at 61 Golborne Road, a shop selling a diverse range of furniture, homewares and gifts. You can expect to find carefully chosen French and English furniture from the late-19th to the mid-20th centuries, handmade Swedish and Portuguese ceramics, linen cushions and cotton throws.

"This is the fulfilment of a long-term dream", says Georgia who lives locally. She previously worked in advertising and this is her first independent business.

"I was delighted to get this shop on Golborne Road because I've lived in the area on and off for the last 12 years and it's a neighbourhood close to my heart. Although Golborne has changed in the last few years, it hasn't been swamped by bankers like other parts of Notting Hill. It still has its own distinctive character – it's definitely not a typical high street."

As well as the shop on the ground floor, the property has an extensive basement and Georgia is going to use this as a venue for short courses in crafts and making.
