Keith Stirling wins Mayor’s Award
Keith Stirling, well-known local character and Golborne Forum Board member, has won a Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Mayor’s Award for his outstanding contributions over the years to his community and to charity.
Keith, who is also chairman of the Wornington Green Residents Association, told the Kensington & Chelsea Chronicle, “I just couldn't believe it really, it is just such an honour. It really was just breathtaking because I never thought anything like that would happen to me - it made me feel quite humble."
Keith has raised an estimated £750,000 in his lifetime for charities. The main way he does this is through his legendary Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle rides which take 21 days. Last year he made the journey for the 14th time and Age Concern Kensington and Chelsea was his chosen charity.
Golborne councillor Emma Coat Dent said: "Keith Stirling gives his time selflessly to the community through sitting on innumerable committees, where he is very much valued for his fair and level-headed approach to local issues and problems and is never afraid to state his views.”
