Meanwhile Gardens wins People’s Millions lottery award
Meanwhile Gardens has won a grant of £80,000 from the People’s Millions Lottery Award for its Building Biodiversity Project. The Gardens got the money after securing a place on the Lottery scheme's shortlist and then winning a phone-in conducted on ITV's ‘The Peoples' Millions’.
All the people who work at the Gardens want to say a big thank you to all of those who took the trouble to phone in and vote for them.
The Building Biodiversity Project will provide educational activities, training and involvement opportunities at the gardens for the local community, schools and children’s groups, elderly residents and disabled groups.
The Project will create two educational areas in the Gardens. The existing pond will be improved so that people can learn about improving biodiversity, conservation. There will also be a vegetable garden that will teach people how to grow their own food.
