Jumping off Trellick…
Golborne was on the edge of its seat on the 13th June as 100 young people abseiled down the side Trellick Tower’s 31 storeys. The dramatic fundraising event was organised by youth charity MyGeneration, which is based at the bottom of Trellick, and the British Schools Expedition Society, with help from the Army’s 29th Commando Regiment.
The abseilers climbed the 465 stairs up Trellick Tower and then jumped off the top with a rope attached, obviously. The event was called Everest in a Day since Trellick is 322 feet high, and a 100 people dropping off the building giving a total of 32,0000 feet, the height of Everest.
MyGeneration works to address social and economic problems that affect young people and their families within our local and neighbouring areas.
MyGeneration is at 19 Golborne Road, W10 5NY
