Golborne Road Festival 2012
No Golborne Road Festival this year
The Golborne Forum Board has reluctantly decided not to hold a Golborne Festival this year.
Kensington & Chelsea Council has cut its funding of the Forum for 2013/2014 by almost a third and the Forum is finding it increasingly difficult to raise other funds for its important work of speaking up for Golborne on local planning issues, informing people about what’s going on in the area through the Golborne Life magazine and website and running events such as the Festival.
The Golborne Festival has been held every year since 2009 and has proved to be a highly popular summer event, featuring a live music stage, street stalls, clowns, international food and lots of fun for everyone.
Forum Chair Susie Parsons said, "We do appreciate that not holding a Golborne Festival this coming summer will be a disappointment to many people in the community, to local businesses and to our partner organisations and colleagues who work so hard to plan and run the Festival with us. We will do everything we can to persuade the Council to restore the full grant to the Forum in 2014/2015 and to find additional funding for a really great Festival in the summer of 2014."
