Art at the Paul House Ramp
You may remember artist Fiona Hawthorne's splendid Carnival murals that were displayed on Portobello Road until recently. Now she's unveiled a new work on the ramp at the front of Paul House on the Wornington Green Estate, just by Ladbroke Grove, overlooking the roundabout just to the south of the newly painted railway bridge.
The ramp has been painted red and Fiona has added panels representing all aspects of the local community. Fiona said, "It has been such a pleasure to meet local residents, to hear views on life and stories of the past, and to mix photos old and new of an area I know well and love.
"Children and their families have used this ramp for many years and I have made the art with children in mind – I wanted to create something that could inspire stories, imagination and possibilities."
The art work was commissioned by Catalyst Housing Group which is currently redeveloping the Wornington Green Estate. Addditional funding came from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
