Wornington Green Estate update

Building work at the new Portobello Square development on the Wornington Green Estate continues apace. The large block, to be called Orwell Mansions, is almost at its full height and work has now started on the internal fit out.

Many of the flats in Orwell Mansions will be occupied by former tenants of the buildings that were demolished to make way for the new development but there are also properties for sale. Flats should be ready for occupation by Spring 2013.

One bedroom flats in Orwell Mansions are available for between £465,000 and £499,500, and two-bed flats from £660,000 to £680,000.

Next to Orwell Mansions, construction has started on the houses which will overlook Munro Mews. Three-bedroom houses there are on the market for £950,000.

Catalyst Housing group report that work will start soon on the next block, and that it plans to speed up the plans to build the third block. Catalyst also says that Phase 2 of the development will likely increase in size so that tenants can move to their new homes more quickly.
