Regarm works to counter some of the horrors of disposable fast fashion

The Regarm Projects

The Regarm Projects is an innovative project designed to counter some of the horrors of disposable fast fashion. Based in North Kensington, with storage space under the Westway, the company works with local communities in London to find creative ways of re-using discarded clothing.

The concept started back in 2020 with Fergus Gilchrist who had a background in pre-loved fashion and he was later joined by Saba Vigneri. After a series of proof-of-concept projects and events, last year Saba and Fergus formalised Regarm's status by launching it as a Community Interest Company. That means it operates as a social enterprise running the organisation for community benefit rather than on a purely commercial basis. The project has been supported with financial help from both Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea councils which both recognise the pressing need to deal with clothing waste.

Now Regarm is involved in a variety of activities:

Collect & Sort
Collecting clothing from businesses, individuals and organisations and sorts it for distribution

Community Giveaways
Running clothing giveaway projects, providing free clothing directly to individuals and families in need

Upcycling workshops and training
Offering materials to makers and groups running upcycling projects, training sessions and creative workshops

Easy Donations
Giving local residents and businesses an easy way to donate clothing and work with us on textile waste solutions.

Saba says, "We're looking to connect with individuals, businesses and organisations who want to collaborate. Fashion professionals, designers, makers, industry experts - anyone who cares about reducing clothing waste. Whether you have clothing to donate, want to collaborate on a project, or simply want to learn more - we'd love to hear from you."

Regarm are always looking for volunteers who'd like to get involved in their projects - get in touch if you'd like to take that opportunity. They can also offer work experience, so if you're a teacher looking for student placements, contact the project.
