Smokefree Homes
The Smokefree Homes Project aims to highlight the effects that smokers can have on people they share a home with, especially children. It is also keen to warn of the fire dangers that smoking can cause.
The Project wants to encourage smokers to stop lightinmg up in their homes and only to smoke outdoors. Smokers who make this pledge will be rewarded with a goody bag which includes stickers, a pledge certificate, a pen and a pencil, and a children’s colouring and activity book.
People who make the pledge will be offered a free home fire safety visit from the Fire Brigade. For those that want to give up smoking, referral to the NHS Stop Smoking Service is available.
This public health initiative is currently run by a partnership between the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, NHS Kensington and Chelsea and the London Fire Brigade.
