Golborne schoolgirl designs Notting Hill bag
The Notting Hill Shopping Bag company has lunched a colourful new bag with an image of Trellick Tower created by 10-year-old Chanay Vital who goes to Middle Row School.
The limited-edition cotton bag is now on sale from stalls and shops on Portobello Road for £4, and for £5 online from the Travel Bookshop. Other designs by primary school children have come from Colville, Bevington and Oxford Gardens. Natalie Imbruglia has also designed one with a cupcake motif.
The bag is one of a series produced by the Notting Hill Shopping Bag project, founded by local journalist Natasha Courtenay-Smith. This community company aims to reduce plastic bag use and boost Portobello Market trade. The project donates 10 per cent of profits to good causes.
