Wornington Green news

After the temporary hiatus, work is due to start again in October on the redevelopment of the Wornington Green Estate, which has been renamed Portobello Square. Initial works will involve preparing the foundations for the first new apartment block to be built.

A shortlist has now been agreed for the appointment of new contractors, which is expected to take place in November. This means that construction proper on the new homes will start in January 2012.

This first block is on Wheatstone Road, just off Portobello Road, the small street leading from Portobello Road to Munro Mews. This four-storey block will include 47 flats and 15 maisonettes for rent, three shared ownership flats and 45 flats for sale.
