New commission for Portobello Wall
The theme for the next commission for the Portobello Road North Wall public art project is 'Aspects of Carnival'. The North Wall is on the section of Portobello Road between Cambridge Gardens and Golborne Road, opposite the Spanish School.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is running the tender process for the next commission and is looking for a striking, beautiful artwork with content that relates to the local area or speaks to a local audience.
The Council will announce the award of the commission in January 2013.The work will be installed for six months from 1 April 2013. The budget for the commission is £7,000 inclusive of artists’ fees, materials and labour.
Proposals must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday, 11th January 2013 to

The current show (pictured) is a series of photographs by
Nadia Hammoud, 'Tea and Coffee' and runs until March 2013. The photographs offer an insight into the journey of tea and coffee from their source countries to the cafés of North Kensington, mirroring journeys made to the UK by residents with North African or Middle Eastern heritage.
